Grow with The Plantbased Pantry
We champion small New Zealand businesses and local makers through our Ashburton store and digital platforms. If your products belong in our fully vegan range, we'd love to learn about your business.
Our partnership approach
The following is an overview of our Collaborative Supply & Brand Partnership Agreement. Approved suppliers complete the full agreement before trading begins.
A six-month consignment introduction
Our partnership begins with six consecutive months on consignment. During this introductory period, ownership of the stock remains with you until a customer purchases it.
Reporting and consignment payments
We provide a sales report for the preceding calendar month by the 10th of each month, paired with a replenishment order. Consignment payouts are due by the 20th of the month following the report month. For example, January sales are reported by 10 February and paid by 20 March.
Suppliers email their matching GST tax invoice to accounts@theplantbasedpantry.co.nz within ten working days of receiving the sales report, as set out in the agreement.
Moving to wholesale terms
Upon successful completion of the introductory period, issuing the sixth-month sales report and accompanying replenishment order triggers the transition to standard wholesale terms: payment on the 20th of the month following the invoice date. The replenishment order includes formal notice of this change.
Managing dated stock
The agreement sets out progressive retail markdowns of 25% one calendar month before Best Before and 50% two weeks before Best Before. Suppliers are notified before markdowns and may request stock back at their own freight cost instead. Products sold during these markdown windows receive a matching percentage reduction in the cost of goods for settlement.
If stock reaches its Best Before date on our shelves, we provide an items-in-stock report and dispose of the products. The Plantbased Pantry is not charged for disposed-of products.
Helping customers discover your brand
Our agreement includes website listings for approved products and regular social media exposure. Where appropriate, products may also feature in our onsite cafe or at the Christchurch Vegan Night Makete. Cafe and Makete sampling opportunities depend on complimentary supplier samples.
Deliveries
Deliveries must be scheduled to arrive as early as possible during our normal trading hours, so our team can receive and merchandise your products.
Preparing your application
Please have your business name, NZBN, contact details, product specifications, shelf-life information, product images and sample commitments ready. We review applications before approving a supplier partnership.
